Reading Log - students should read regularly and on a wide range of topics. Fill in the reading log so that everyone has an up to date understanding of how much you read and what sort of subjects you are interested in.
Word of the Week each week a word will be chosen for the students to do some extension activities, providing them the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the chosen word and how the English language functions. (Open the page labeled "Word of the Week" for weekly activities).
Spelling Lists will be provided on a weekly basis and will be tested each Friday. Spend time writing and rewriting these lists to familiarise yourself with the words and the way they look. (Open the page labeled spelling for each weeks activities).
Weekly worksheet in the homework book covers a broad range of maintenance activities to reinforce the classroom learning. (These are pasted into each student's homework book).
Research topics arise from the current Inquiry Topic or from daily conversation, this provides research activities on a current subject and to the level they choose. (These are to be completed in each student's homework books. The topics are generally given orally at the end of the day as we discuss what further learning we may wish to engage in).
